Glad to hear the lodge is still there and thank you for posting the two pictures. Such memories for me. I sat outside the of the lodge where the sheep are, playing my guitar! I have some old pictures in colour slides, which I will sort out and maybe scan and send you some if you are interested.
Kind regards,
Ian

Re: seanduffy.me: Through the eye of a... anchor

Many thanks Lenny. B&W photography is interesting, and I hope to learn more about it. It seems to work best with surfaces like this, where there is a texture.

Re: seanduffy.me: Ravenglass Cow

Thanks Lou :)

Re: seanduffy.me: Ravenglass Cow

Thanks Jessie :)

Re: seanduffy.me: Through the eye of a... anchor

This is lovely. It's currently being renovated, but is in pretty good condition, and still hosts people willing to stay there. I am planning on going back up there at some point over the next few months, so I'll try to get more pictures for you.

Many thanks for your comments :)

Re: http://www.seanduffy.me/2012/02/autumn-colours-at-burnmoor-tarn.html

I am so pleased to see Burnmoor Tarn and your video including Burnmoor Lodge. I stayed at Burnmoor Lodge on holiday for 4 years in the 1960's with a church youth organisation called Covenanters. I believe that at that time Burnmoor Lodge was owned by a doctor from Manchester. We lived in the lodge on camp beds and the local farmer used to bring us supplies periodically on a trailer with his tractor. We used this as a base for fell walking and I have many happy memories of climbing Sca Fell, Great Gable (and the scree runs) and I recall not far away we could look down on Lake Wastwater. We were cut off from the world, apart from occasionally walking to Boot to get post and Kendal Mint Cake. One year we arrived back home and everyone was talking about the "Great Train Robbery" that had happened a few days earlier, and we knew nothing about it! I even carried my guitar from Boot to the Lodge and played there - not many people have probably done that.
Thank you for these photos and video on YouTube which have brought back many happy memories. I wondered if Burnmoor Lodge was still there - about 5 years ago I was in Boot (we went on Ratty!) and saw the sign near the Post Office, but it was too late in the day to try and find it, and also this time I had family with me.
This is the only website I have found anything about Burnmoor Lodge and the Tarn. Thank you for such beautiful pictures and memories.
Ian

Re: seanduffy.me: Ravenglass Cow

Lovely pic, you are right about those eyelashes, i'd love them!

Lou

Re: http://www.seanduffy.me/2012/02/burnmoor-tarn.html

Thanks Pippa - still posting shots from my old camera ;)

Re: http://www.seanduffy.me/2012/02/burnmoor-tarn.html

Amazing!!!!
